"Better health, Better lives, Better future" service project BBB is one of the service projects under CHEER, a registered non-profit-making organization founded in 2012. Cambodia is a developing country.

BBB served more than 100 children, attempting to improve their quality of life through environmental modification, health check and education. Within this Kingdom of Wonder, many children are suffering. Malnutrition, polluted water source and poor hygienic conditions make children most vulnerable to many deadly diseases. Diarrhea, pneumonia, measles and malaria are the four diseases that account f

or seven out of ten childhood deaths in developing countries. Eye infections such as trachoma, is the largest cause of preventable blindness in the developing world. Skin diseases like scabies also cause intolerable sufferings. In most cases, the above-mentioned diseases can be prevented by improving the quality of drinking water, and arousing hygienic awareness among the children. Treatment of diseases is not a long-term solution. Only by educating the children to regularly wash their face, hands and eyes with clean water and soap is the best preventative measure. Providing children with clean water and basic hygienic knowledge changes their lives and future. So the "Better health, Better lives, Better future" sanitation enhancing project would mainly focus on popularizing hygienic practices and enhancing sanitation in orphanages of Siem Reap, Cambodia. We will visit orphanages in or near the town of Siem Reap, giving lectures on sanitation practices, constructing a water purifying system for each orphanage, conducting basic physical examinations for children and providing medical equipment.
