In 1993 a group of Athens area homeless service providers met with the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness to discuss ways in which to better coordinate services. Within a few months, this group was formally recognized as the Northeast Georgia Homeless Coalition. In 2013, the organization was renamed the Northeast Georgia Homeless and Poverty Coalition to better reflect the diverse group of memb
ership agencies and the complex issues faced by Athens-Clarke County. Coalition meetings are currently held on the first Thursday of every other month, 10:30 A.M., at First Baptist Church, 355 Pulaski Street, Athens. How to get Involved
