Athens Homeless Coalition We are a coalition that works to prevent and end homelessness in Athens-Clarke County.

In 1993 a group of Athens area homeless service providers met with the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness to discuss ways in which to better coordinate services. Within a few months, this group was formally recognized as the Northeast Georgia Homeless Coalition. In 2013, the organization was renamed the Northeast Georgia Homeless and Poverty Coalition to better reflect the diverse group of memb

ership agencies and the complex issues faced by Athens-Clarke County. Coalition meetings are currently held on the first Thursday of every other month, 10:30 A.M., at First Baptist Church, 355 Pulaski Street, Athens. How to get Involved

Be a part of a Coalition subcommittee and work on focused projects to achieve Coalition and community goals.

Since 2015, roughly 90–95% of people in supportive housing programs remain housed.

Thanks to a generous donation from the , Athens Homeless Coalition staff, board members, and volunteers were able to provide water, meals, and snacks for over 150 people who utilized the ACC emergency shelter and warming station during the recent snow and ice storms. and other community partners provided hot meals and sandwiches as well.

ACE Access Points are designated locations where individuals and families experiencing homelessness can begin the ACE process by completing an assessment that identifies their housing needs and eligibility for services.

Our Access Point partners are vital in ensuring there are as many pathways as possible to enter the ACE system. Because of ACE Access Points, our system is accessible, equitable, and efficient, providing safe options for everyone and increasing the chances of reaching all individuals who need support.

The Flexible Housing Fund is a fund administered by the Athens Homeless Coalition that works to prevent homelessness and help households exit homelessness.

The Flexible Housing Fund is a fund administered by the Athens Homeless Coalition that works to prevent homelessness and help households exit homelessness.

Through this fund we have already helped 81 households with rental assistance, keeping them from entering steps towards eviction.
