✨ A new chapter begins at The Little Mountain School ✨

We are thrilled to welcome Luis Fernando Urbina Osla as our new Administrative Director!

Luis brings years of experience in education, leadership, and service—but more importantly, a heart rooted in faith and a deep commitment to students.

From teaching and leading in schools across Guatemala…
to training educators in rural communities…
to guiding entire school systems—

Luis has dedicated his life to one mission:
using education to transform lives.

Now, he brings that same passion to The Little Mountain School.

We’re excited to share this short video with you, highlighting one of the joyful ways our students are learning English—through music.

Singing is not only fun, but incredibly effective. It helps our students improve pronunciation, strengthen listening skills, and build vocabulary in a natural and engaging way. Even more, it builds confidence as they begin to hear and use English more comfortably.

Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that learning can be filled with joy, creativity, and connection.

The pre-primary team, together with parents, families, and the maintenance staff, recently carried out a project to beautify the Little Mountain School campus by planting flowers around the Lyceum.

We are grateful to everyone who participated. Once again, this was a beautiful example of our community working together toward a shared goal. 🌸

At The Little Mountain School in Guatemala, children are receiving more than an education — they are receiving nourishment, stability, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Because of your generosity:

📚 207 students received a full education
🍽 85,470 nutritious meals were served
👩‍🏫 14 teachers, 4 staff members, and 6 volunteers served faithfully
🎓 9 grades operated — Pre-School through 7th grade
📖 Students studied mathematics, language, science, arts, emotional intelligence, English, civic education, and computer studies
⭐ 99% student retention rate

Every number represents a child whose future is brighter because someone cared.

✨ Great news for our educational community! ✨

Thanks to generous donors, the School just received a donation of Spanish reading books for the library 📚❤️. This beautiful contribution will foster a love of reading in all the children, strengthening their learning, imagination and academic development.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the organizer of this initiative, to every donor, to all the people who were involved in the project and also to our teachers, who dedicated time to carefully select and sort the books.

This achievement represents a great breakthrough for our institution and an invaluable opportunity for our students. Thank you for sowing knowledge and hope in the hearts of our children!. 🌟📖

This past Tuesday was the first day of classes for the new school year, and it was truly special. Our teachers prepared a beautiful welcome, and the school was once again filled with laughter, singing, shared experiences, and so much joy. These are the moments that remind us why this work matters.

This year, we are blessed to welcome about 250 students, from Pre-K through 8th grade. Seeing their excitement, curiosity, and happiness as they returned to the classroom brought our campus to life in the most wonderful way.

Thank you for helping make days like this possible. Because of your support, our students have a place where they are loved, encouraged, and given the opportunity to grow.

As we look ahead to 2026, The Little Mountain School is preparing for a year of significant growth. We anticipate welcoming at least 34 additional students, increasing the need for teachers, learning materials, daily meals, and overall school support.

Our 2026 operating budget is $390,000, and it is 100% supported by donors like you. We are committed to strong stewardship—92 cents of every dollar goes directly to the school.
