Frequently Asked Questions:
-> When is the DZ open? Saturdays, from 7:30am until around 14:00-15:00 depending on activity, weather etc.
-> Where are you located? Our dropzone is at the Kingsfield Airfield situated in Dhekelia. It is between Larnaca and Agia Napa, exit 61 from the Highway (Dhekelia-Xylotympou-Achna-Avgorou)
-> What are the prices for experienced skydivers? Tickets are €25 from
13.000 ft and €15 from 5.000 ft.
-> What do experience skydivers need to know before coming over? We are a BPA affiliated dropzone (i.e. we follow all rules and regulations of the British Parachute Association). Jumping with an AAD is mandatory and you will need to take out at least a temporary membership with the BPA in order to be allowed to jump here (this can be done on arrival). If you will be bringing your own equipment the reserve needs to have been packed within the last 6 months.
-> What about people who have not jumped before? It depends on what you have in mind. If you wish to become a skydiver you can contact us with your details and join one of the One Jump Courses available here or do an AFF course. The One Jump Course training takes around 6-7 hours and is usually done on Saturday. The jump takes place the next day at 3 500 feet. Once outside the plane the parachute opens automatically and you are guided by a member of staff over the radio to the student landing area. This type of course is a group course and takes place once enough students have applied. It costs €200 and is one of the two ways you can begin your skydiving adventure. The AFF course is an Accelerated Free Fall course that takes place with two instructors from 12 000 feet starting with your first jump. There are 8 levels to complete along with 10 consolidation jumps before fully qualifying to become a fully licensed skydiver. The price (not including consolidation jumps) is €1635. If you just wish to experience the thrill of skydiving without the fuss, a tandem will do just that. It allows you to experience free-fall by being attached to an experienced tandem instructor with a harness. You exit the plane attached to the qualified instructor, who is in charge of opening and navigating the parachute. You usually exit at 13.000 feet, experience free fall for 30 seconds, and after the parachute opens, you can enjoy the breathtaking views while descending to the ground. The great thing about it is that you can relax and enjoy your fall and take it all in with very limited knowledge of skydiving as the tandem instructor is responsible for opening and handling the parachute and landing to safety. Preparation takes place on the same day before the jump. You can do a tandem jump any weekend, provided we book this from before, so let us know when your preferred date is and we will get back to you on availability. The cost is €250 + €100 for the whole thing to be filmed and put on a DVD. Due to increased demand it would be good if you could let us know your preferred date 2-3 weeks in advance and we will get back to you on availability.
-> Age and Weight restrictions:
People who have not jumped before and are over 95kg should inform us when applying for any of the above.
