Center for Effective Public Policy - CEPP

CEPP is a nonprofit organization with longstanding experience in the field of criminal justice.

Working toward a world where all justice is community justice, we help practitioners, policymakers, and communities reimagine a justice system that works for all. For the past 40 years, CEPP has worked collaboratively with justice system professionals and their partners to improve their justice systems and facilitate equitable, systemic, and sustainable change. We believe our criminal legal system

s should work for all, and that all justice should be community justice. CEPP works on projects across the spectrum of the criminal legal system – from pretrial to sentencing, as well as corrections, probation, parole, and reintegration. Our projects focus on changing the status quo and reimagining justice solutions. We work to reduce reliance on incarceration, strengthen communities, and improve outcomes for everyone impacted by the criminal legal system. We bring expertise in group facilitation and collaboration, training and education, change management, research and national best practices, and practical working knowledge and skills in implementing evidence-based practices and sustainable programs.

Strong justice systems are built through collaboration.

CEPP is excited to be partnering with Indiana's Justice Reinvestment Advisory Councils (JRACs) to help communities strengthen evidence-based decision-making and improve justice system outcomes.

Through training, facilitation, and technical assistance, we're working with local and state partners to support collaborative planning, develop practical tools and resources, and help multidisciplinary teams address challenges like recidivism and jail crowding through evidence-informed practices.

CEPP serves as Indiana’s partner in building and delivering an array of technical assistance resources to support the Evidence-Based Decision Making (EBDM) Framework in Indiana’s 92 counties.

CEPP Associate Director Tanya Anderson will be representing CEPP at All Rise RISE26 this month!

On July 21, Tanya will join Judge Carla Baldwin to present Bridging the Gap: Utilizing Pretrial Release to Promote Stability and Support Success.

RISE brings together justice and treatment leaders for the largest conference on addiction, mental health and justice reform. RISE20 will be held May 27-30, 2020 in Anaheim, CA.
