New Hampshire Theatre Alliance

Celebrating theatre in the Granite State! Our organization’s operation is remarkably widespread.

Participating New Hampshire Theatre Award member companies provide six adjudicators - who are selected at random and sent throughout the state to score and comment on various elements of a production. On any given weekend during the year, adjudicators are traveling the state attending, adjudicating, and supporting their fellow artists work. You do not have to be affiliated with a theatre company to become an adjudicator - although all adjudicators must attend one of the annual training sessions. The training session helps to educate adjudicators (and theatre company liaisons) in the process for adjudication. The Top Three Finalists will be announced the night of the Theatre Awards, with the category Award presented to each winner.

NH Chronicle Special: NH on Broadway!!!

Join Erin Fehlau for a NH Chronicle special Monday, May 18th at 7pm. She will take you to NYC where we meet NINE granite staters making it on the Great White Way.

Emma Flynn of Bedford, the new Glinda in Wicked, gives us a dressing room tour.

3-time Tony nominee Jennifer Simard of Litchfield shows us her portrait at Sardi’s.

Hear from two granite state duos in 2 different shows — Max Clayton & Kaleigh Cronin of Manchester are in Schmigadoon! and Victor Carrillo Tracey (Portsmouth) and Derek Jordan Taylor (Concord) are in The Outsiders.

Manchester’s Ian Dolley sped up his senior year to make a Broadway debut in Stranger Things.

Harper Burns of Portsmouth made her Broadway debut at age 9 in Beaches.

And Bryce Thomas-Russell of Concord is the dresser for Jafar at Disney’s Aladdin!

Thank you all for your patience with me.

I would like to thank those of you who have raised concerns regarding some of the technical issues over the past few years with the award show. We truly appreciate the opportunity to hear from our community. Please rest assured we have been and will continue to review the circumstances and complexities regarding the errors with a commitment to process improvement.

While some things were beyond our control, a theme has emerged (among many). The NHTA has a very tight budget for the award show, and hires the director, music director, musicians, sound technician through our recent vendor MFI. All other production and technical positions are staffed by volunteers --and we did not have enough volunteers in either area this year or in the recent past. Please consider volunteering—especially if you or your company are skilled with running music tracks or you have other technical or production skills and interests. Please send me an email: [email protected]

Thank you all. 💜
