A war of 1812 commemorative unit portraying a detachment of the 10th Royal Veteran Battalion,or 10th RVB.Our focus is on authentic living history,animation and interpretive presentations.We are a member unit of the Crown Forces of North America. The 10th RVB was raised in Britain in 1806 although the unit did not arrive at Quebec until 1807.Its ranks were composed of experienced soldiers who had s

erved or were currently serving in the British Army.The specific purpose of the 10th RVB was to bolster Canada's defences, primarily as garrison troops.During the War of 1812 detachments were posted throughout (present day) Ontario,Quebec, and parts of the Maritimes.Soldiers from the 10th RVB also saw action in various engagements - most notably at the capture of Fort Mackinac in Michigan,in the early days of the war.In 1816 the Battalion was disbanded with many of its soldiers and officers remaining and settling in Canada.
