Messy Oaks by John Roland Blog by John Roland. Seeking to be an oak of righteousness (Isaiah 61) but the process is messy. Confidential friend to hurting pastors.

This blog is a place for me to post my thoughts, struggles, and inspiration. Isaiah 61 speaks of those who have undergone great struggles and disappointments. Isaiah is offering them HOPE by encouraging them it is not to be wasted. Their pain and suffering will be redeemed so “they will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of God’s splendor.” I want to be an “Oa

k of righteousness” and I commit my life to investing in others so they too can become “oaks of righteousness.”

“... if we are willing, the experience of grief can deepen and widen our ability to participate in life. We can become more grateful for the gifts we have been given, more open-handed in our handling of the events of life, more sensitive to the whole mysterious process of life, and more trusting in our adventure with God.”– "Tracks of a Fellow Struggler"
