Prevent spotted lanternflys!

Now is the time to be proactive against spotted lanternfly! Scraping and destroying egg masses this winter will help decrease the number of spotted lanternfly that hatch next spring. Spotted lanternfly lay egg masses on trees and other smooth surfaces outside, including campers, grills, boats, and sheds. An egg mass will be tan or brown and have the consistency of mud. If you find an egg mass, scrape it off with a credit card, place it in a Ziploc bag, and add rubbing alcohol to the bag to destroy the eggs. Each egg mass can contain up to 60 eggs, so egg mass scraping can effectively manage spotted lanternfly on your property!

Police officers will be visiting Spark*d (inside DE.CO) at 111 West 10th Street on Wednesday, March 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. We encourage customers coming in for their coffee and bakery treats to stop by our table, interact with some of our police officers and pick up some public safety-related information and giveaways.

The continuation of this monthly event follows our department’s observance of National Coffee with a Cop Day this past October. Throughout 2023, we will organize a monthly event at coffee shops across the city to help provide additional opportunities for the public to interact with our officers, ask questions and learn about resources available to our community.

The Wilmington Police Department will continue to organize a monthly Coffee with a Cop event, with our next event coming up in March.   Police officers will be visiting Spark*d (inside DE.CO) ...

A MESSAGE FROM OUR TVNA BOARD

Last night’s meeting was very productive and
informative. We’d like to thank Ernest “Trippi” Congo President Of Wilmington
City Council and his staff member, Council
Women Michelle Harlee of the 4th District,
Chief Wilfredo Campos, Captain Randall Nowell and WPD Officers who serve our
area. We appreciate The Wilmington Peace
Keepers for their participation.

A lot was discussed by end of the meeting. I
think a lot of questions were answered and
Wilmington Police made a big commitment to
our neighbors which put a lot of residents at
ease.

We’d also like to thank all of our residents for participating, without you there’s no success.

Two big events in April, our community clean
up and cook out and the Grand Opening of
our Cafe(the old treehouse cafe). Dates will
be forwarded.
