Our elected delegates closed out this May Day week at the AFGE District 2 Caucus! We connected with our union siblings from AFGE locals across the district, and we elected key positions, including our National Vice President. We even got a beach walk in between sessions 🐚

Our members marched down Broadway with thousands of labor movement allies this afternoon to unite in solidarity on May Day!

We also debuted our union’s new tshirts—be on the lookout for them at future events 👀

After the march, the United Federation of Teachers generously hosted public and private sector unions at its headquarters, celebrating our members’ fight to defend the federal service. Our Secretary Maya Greally spoke about the specific challenges we face as EPA workers and federal unionists.

🎬Last night was movie night! 🎥

Over a dozen members gathered together for dinner and to watch the coal and labor documentary Blood on the Mountain!

The movie sparked a great conversation afterwards that let us know two things.
1.) We need to do this again!
2.) We need to rent the room for longer so we have more time to talk and connect.

🌎Happy Earth Day!🌎

Believe it or not, the first Earth Day owed its success to the support of unions! The United Auto Workers Union was the largest financial backer for that first celebration, weaving labor activism further into the fabric of the environmental movement.

So to fully embody the spirit of this green holiday, you can go clean up a park, AND you can join your coworkers at an upcoming union event, committee meeting, or general meeting!
