Every December 1st, we stand in solidarity with the millions of people living with HIV/AIDS, commemorate those we have lost, and renew our commitment to ending the epidemic.
The fight against HIV is driven by knowledge and action. One of the most powerful steps you can take for yourself and your community is to Know Your Status.
Why is HIV Testing So Important?
• ✅ Early Treatment is Key: If you test positive, modern medicine allows you to live a long, healthy life. Starting treatment early means you can achieve an undetectable viral load, which makes the virus untransmittable. This is often summarized as U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable).
• 🛡️ Protection for Others: If you test negative, you can explore powerful prevention tools like PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) to remain HIV-negative.
• 🛑 End the Epidemic: An estimated 1 in 7 people with HIV in the US don't know they have it. Getting tested helps break the chain of transmission and brings us closer to ending the public health threat of HIV.
This World AIDS Day, wear your red ribbon and commit to taking a proactive step for your health.

A sigh of relief for now in these troubling times.

The Supreme Court on Monday declined an opportunity to overturn its landmark precedent recognizing a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, tossing aside an appeal that had roiled LGBTQ advocates who feared the conservative court might be ready to revisit the decade-old decision.
