Nourish Thy Neighbor When my dad was on hospice, I felt a deep need to be rooted in God's Word with friends by my side. More than study though, my passion is building community.

Born out of a personal need for fellowship in God’s Word, Nourish Thy Neighbor is now a growing movement of home Bible studies—neighbors creating safe spaces to gather, nourish hearts, and multiply community. What began with pulling and unopened Bible study guide off my bookshelf has grown into a rhythm of choosing studies already in our homes -- reminders that God provides what we need right wher

e we are. I hold a degree in the Practical's of Theology and love exploring Scripture in its original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. Opening doors, creating safe spaces, and nourishing neighbors in truth and friendship. I hope my story inspires others that it doesn't take much to create a ripple in your home neighborhood.

The Mary vs Martha isn’t an identity crisis of who you relate to. It’s a wrestle of our priorities to prepare for the moment or to be present in the moment.

Wisdom that is both simple and powerful, so that we can apply it to our daily lives and actually see a difference. We truly can live more peace-filled, joyful lives because of these two things: studying the word & praying. They go hand in hand. Intertwining them within each other and through our lives creates a thread of stability we all crave.

Shout out to my Pastor for his wisdom and being an example of consistency
And to for affirming my heart towards the discipline of studying the word through her book “women of the word”!

I tried to whittle this down to 3 minutes but forgiveness cannot be contained! It’s powerful and redemptive and too many of us know we should do it but don’t know how to do it. Well, here’s how the Holy Spirit has been teaching me to walk in this process….

“Oh my God!”
We say this without even thinking. But what did those words really mean to the ancient Hebrews?

True to my nature I’ve come up with more questions than I have answers but I’m so excited to unravel and share this journey with you. Tracing Hebrew and Greek words, let’s rediscover the weight and wonder behind the words we use so easily in our ordinary life…

What do you think it means to use God’s name in vain?

This is a whole linguistics/theology rabbit hole and I’m very excited to see what God reveals!

Expectations exceeded this past Tuesday evening!

🗣️Our discussion centered around sharing our church pedigree. The recent ups of finding a church home and the many downs of not belonging in the past. We shared a sliver of our life and realized we were not alone in our lonely experiences. Our mutual goal of belonging is the driving force to establish ourselves (and our family) in a church home.

… and a RIPPLE is happening. ⛲️
Not only is there a neighborhood Bible study in McKinney that my mother in law is doing, but one of the husbands in our group launched a men’s neighborhood study; to talk about the stresses of life from a Biblical perspective. 🤩 AMAZING!

Our set up:
•We meet after the kids are in bed so we don’t miss out on family time.
•We choose a study based on books we have collecting dust on our bookshelves. (It’s the push to finally read what we’ve always intended to read!)
•My living room was full of beautiful faces and still extra spaces!
•We had 6 new friends join the study!

✨ Big news, friends — Divine Alignment Yoga is now Nourish Thy Neighbor. ✨

This little seed was planted in July 2024, when my dad was on hospice. In that hard season, I needed reprieve and comfort that only the Word of God and my closest friends could bring. What began as a small, intimate gathering in my living room has continued to grow beyond what I imagined.

We’re now starting our 5th book together, and with each new study, God has multiplied us. My sweet mother-in-law has even started her own branch in her neighborhood. That’s the heart of Nourish Thy Neighbor: simple, meaningful community that multiplies.

My prayer is that this inspires you — to your neighborhood, to your community. You don’t need a perfect home or a polished plan. All it takes is inviting a couple of friends over, opening the front door, and sitting cross-legged and comfy on the living room floor.

Because at the end of the day, we all crave belonging. And your home is already a place where people can belong. 💛

Here’s to nourishing our neighbors, one gathering at a time. 🕊️
