UNSW Giving Sight Society Giving Sight aims to raise awareness and funds to eradicate preventable blindness & visual impairment World Sight Day will contribute to this possible future!

Giving Sight Society is a small, student-run, fundraising society here at UNSW. We mainly hold stalls and events throughout the year on campus to raise vital funds to achieve three things:
* Support the training of eye care professionals
* Build vision centres in disadvantaged countries
* Provide eyecare services to those in need. Globally, we want to work towards preventing refractive eye care pr

oblems that, left untreated, can lead to vision loss and impairment. Refractive eye problems occur when the shape of the eye prevents light from focusing directly on the retina. You may know this as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia. We believe that no one should be rendered to their situation if it can be helped by others. So as a society, we step in to help those who need it most. We are ultimately working towards eliminating avoidable blindness and low vision by 2025. For more information please visit
