Great news! The New York State Senate and New York State Assembly Majority included $500 million for in their one-house budget proposals! This is a new record funding level. Thank you Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Senator Pete Harckham, Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie, and Assemblywoman Deborah Glick for protecting clean air and water by growing investments in the EPF!

When we invest in clean water, clean air and conservation, communities win. In every county of the State and every borough of New York City, the EPF delivers economic benefits and improves public health and quality of life while conserving the land and water that New Yorkers depend on.

Last week, New Yorkers from all over the state traveled to New York's State Capitol to share how the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) has benefited their communities.

Big thanks to Senator Pete Harckham and Assemblywoman Deborah Glick for hosting us and for their dedicated leadership to growing environmental funding in the state budget!

In meetings with 80 state legislators and staff, advocates urged the state legislators to continue the EPF's decades of success by ensuring the final state budget includes $500 million for the EPF.

Since 1993, the EPF has preserved special places, protected clean air and water, reduced pollution and waste, expanded recreation, supported environmental justice organizations, created good jobs, and so much more.
