Yesterday was quite a day. We were in the midst of the familiar ritual of returning the theatre to blankness after the closing performance of Mike Wiley and Howard L. Craft's Changing Same: The Cold-Blooded Murder of Booker T. Spicely when the news came in that a film made by J. Alphonse Nicholson from Howard L. Craft's Freight: The Five Incarnations of Abel Green in a production at the Fountain Theatre directed by Joseph Megel had just won Best Narrative Feature at the Urbanworld Film Festival in NYC. Joseph had just flown back from the screening to be with us for Mike Wiley's final performance of Changing Same. I believe Joseph had a broom in his hand when the news came in. Theatre. Congratulations to all those involved in making Freight and Changing Same. (Photo at Urbanworld courtesy of Renee Alexander Craft. Photo of Mike Wiley (as Melvina Jones) by Jennifer Sanderson.)

REMINDER: We will start the waitlist in person 45 minutes prior to curtain each night for door cancellations. We were able to get a few extra people in last night, so it's always worth taking the chance!

Thanks to Kurt Benrud and the fine folks at Triangle Review for coming to see Changing Same: The Cold-Blooded Murder of Booker T. Spicely (UNC) last weekend!

"It's always a pleasure to attend a performance of a brand-new script. The experience is especially sweet when the script is an outstanding example of its genre and when the performance is imaginatively presented and flawlessly executed.

Such is the case with Changing Same: The Cold-Blooded Murder of Booker T. Spicely, a brand-new one-man show written by Mike Wiley and Howard L. Craft and performed by Mike Wiley."

Changing Same: The Cold-Blooded Murder of Booker T. Spicely (UNC) starts tonight. There is so much the team wants to say but we'd prefer to let the work speak for itself. Mike & Howard have written an incredibly prescient script and Mike brings the characters to life in moving ways. Moments like these are what live theater is made for. Join us?
