Today is , and it’s a day that means a lot to us here at Project Healing Waters. It’s not just about donations, it’s about coming together as a community to support those who have given so much for all of us.
For many Veterans, the transition out of military service can be a lonely and difficult road. At PHW, we offer more than fly fishing, we create a place where Veterans can find connection, healing, and hope. The water, the community, the time spent outdoors, it all plays a role in helping them rediscover a sense of peace and purpose.
If you’re looking for a way to make a real impact today, there are a few simple ways you can help. Whether it’s donating to support our programs through the link below, sharing this message to spread the word, or volunteering your time to join us, every action helps create a brighter future for the Veterans we serve.
Thank you for being part of this movement. Together, we can continue to make a difference, one cast, one story, and one connection at a time.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve :) , It's that time of year where some of us get in a rut and lose connection with our community. We are going to having at least 1 event a month (1st Thursdays most likely) and some added fishing in there. We couldn't do it without the help of our volunteers and donors to keep things working. Giving Tuesday is next week so I figured I would call those of you to action that can help support us or know someone who can help. The link to donate to our Boise program is https://give.projecthealingwaters.org/campaign/phw-boise/c563796 , I try not to reach out very often but we are trying to grow the program and get out on the water more. We are planning an overnight trip next summer which will be our first in a long time. Help if you can and thanks for everyone's support. We could not do this without you. If you are a Service Connected Disabled Veteran (or know one you think would be interested) or want to volunteer reach out.

"It doesn't matter if I don't catch a single fish, just being out on the water and being outside has such an impact on my mental health. I will take any opportunity that I can to get outside and spend time with my tribe."

- Brian F., 5th SFG Veteran

Don’t let winter keep you from connecting with your community and enjoying the outdoors. Our programs run all year, and our community members frequently organize their own gatherings.

Your tribe is waiting—come join us.

Little windy and rainy but still a great day on the water. A few fish made it to the net even.

Project Healing Waters - Boise Program

The Boise, Idaho Chapter was developed in 2009 with the local VA Hospital who had an interest in taking wounded veterans fly fishing. The Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing 501(c)3 program provides basic fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying and rod building classes, along with clinics participants ranging from beginners who have never fished before, to those with prior fly fishing and tying experience who are adapting their skills to their new abilities. All fly fishing and tying equipment is provided to the participants at no cost. Fishing trips, both one day and multi-day, are also provided free of charge to participants. In order to have a viable program, three groups must co-exist: a fly fishing club willing to provide the volunteers and organize the program, a DOD or VA medical facility willing to host the program, and injured military members or disabled veterans willing to participate. Because each of these groups is unique, no two Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing programs will be exactly the same.
