Oxford Muse Society The Oxford Muse Society promotes meaningful interactions between strangers through conversation dinners and other events.

Conversation can be far more than the same repetitive cycle of polite chatter, routine e-mails, and predictable Facebook updates. The banality of daily chit-chat, from Fresher’s Week introductions to practically pre-scripted goodbyes in Week 8, can leave people feeling disconnected from those around them. The Oxford Muse Society aims to bring strangers together (in pairs) for conversations which e

schew small talk. Through hosting conversation dinners, cocktail evenings and a range of other events, we create atmospheres where meaningful conversation is the norm, not a pleasant surprise. By bringing together undergraduates and graduates alike across all subjects university-wide, the unpredictability of who you will be talking to means you are likely to gain a fresh perspective on whatever you end up discussing. In essence, the Oxford Muse Society is about being open, sincere, and interested. Beyond the good food and drink, new company and novel ideas, Muse events are a way of connecting with people in a meaningful way outside of a tight-knit group of friends.
