8 May – World Thalassemia Day
On this World Thalassemia Day, Bahar Social Development Organisation stands in solidarity with patients, families, and healthcare workers fighting thalassemia every day. ❤️

Thalassemia is a serious inherited blood disorder, but with awareness, timely testing, proper treatment, and community support, lives can be improved and saved.
Together, we can build a healthier and more informed society.
“Be aware. Share care. Support thalassemia patients.”

Today, we honor the strength, dignity, and resilience of every worker who builds our communities, shapes our future, and keeps the world moving forward.

Labour is not just about earning a livelihood — it is about pride, purpose, and progress. From farmers in the fields to workers in factories, from teachers to daily wage earners — every role matters, and every effort counts.

At Bahar Social Development Organisation, we believe that empowering workers means empowering society. Fair opportunities, safe working conditions, and respect for every individual are not privileges — they are rights.

✨ Let this Labour Day remind us:

- To value hard work in all its forms
- To stand for justice and equality
- To support and uplift those who strive every day

Together, we can build a future where no effort goes unnoticed and no worker is left behind.

💚 Respect Labour. Celebrate Effort. Build Hope.

Today, Bahar Social Development Organisation proudly hosted an important coordination meeting at our office in Bahawalpur, bringing together CSOs, NGOs, managers, CEOs, and development partners to initiate a collaborative district-wide campaign on HIV/AIDS Awareness, Prevention, and Treatment Adherence.

This is not the mission of one organization alone — it is a shared responsibility. Through collective action, partnership, and community engagement, we are building a united response to address the growing spread of HIV in Pakistan and protect vulnerable communities.

We invite all organizations registered under the Social Welfare Ordinance 1961 to become part of this campaign and support this vital cause. Together, we can strengthen awareness, promote timely HIV testing, reduce stigma, and improve treatment adherence.

Our message to every community is simple:
Be Safe. Get Tested on Time. Know Your Status. Support Prevention.

This campaign starts with collaboration and grows through collective commitment. We call upon all CSOs, NGOs, and social development partners in Bahawalpur district to join hands with Behar Social Development Organisation for a stronger, healthier, and HIV-aware society.

Proud Moment for Inclusion, Protection & Community Voice

Bahar Social Development Organization in collaboration with 30 CBOs, proudly participated in the Two-Day Training on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) for UNFPA Implementing Partners & PSEA Network Members, held on March 30–31, 2026 in Multan.

Under the leadership of our Managing Director, this marks a powerful step forward in strengthening accountability, protection, and dignity for all, especially as we raise our voice for the marginalised community. This is not just participation — this is a commitment to human rights, equality, and zero tolerance against exploitation and abuse.

🔴 Core Principles of PSEA
Zero tolerance for Sexual Exploitation & Abuse (SEA) — no second chances. Sexual activity with children under 18 is strictly prohibited. Exchange of money, employment, goods, or services for s*x is forbidden. No s*xual relationships with beneficiaries. Every humanitarian worker must report concerns and actively create a safe, respectful environment that prevents SEA.

💬 Our Commitment
“Imdad hamesha muft hoti hai” — aid must never come with conditions. We stand for dignity, respect, and protection of every individual. We are committed to raising awareness, ensuring safe reporting, and empowering communities to speak up against any form of exploitation or abuse.

🌍 About PSEA Network
Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is a global commitment led by the United Nations. The Inter-Agency PSEA Network Pakistan, active since 2018 with provincial chapters since 2023, focuses on survivor-centered response, safe reporting mechanisms, and accountability. Under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator and co-chaired by UNFPA & UNICEF, this platform strengthens coordination among implementing partners and organizations. Each organization contributes through dedicated PSEA focal points ensuring compliance, awareness, and action.

I am honored to share that I, as CEO of Bahar Social Development Organization , had the privilege of participating in a two-day training on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), organized for UNFPA Pakistan Implementing Partners and PSEA Network Members at Fatties Hotel, Multan.

This important training provided valuable insights into safeguarding principles, ethical responsibilities, and practical strategies to prevent and respond to s*xual exploitation and abuse within our communities and organizations. It also strengthened our commitment to creating safe, respectful, and accountable environments for all.

Engaging with fellow partners and professionals was truly inspiring, as we collectively reaffirmed our dedication to upholding dignity, protection, and human rights in all our work.

Grateful for this opportunity to learn, reflect, and grow. Together, we move forward stronger in our mission to serve humanity with integrity.
