With summer on the way, we are hopefully heading for a period of lower heating costs, but it’s a good time to look into heating and insulation upgrades to help lower costs when the winter comes.
Some households may be entitled to grant funding of up to £10,000, through Home Energy Scotland, so worth checking your eligibility on the following link:

The Scottish Government’s Warmer Homes Scotland programme offers support worth £10,000 or more for eligible households for energy-saving home improvements like heating and insulation to help make your home warmer and cheaper to heat.

Consultation Period – The consultation will run from Friday 16 January 2026 to Friday 27 February 2026.



Next Steps – A summary of insights from this consultation on the draft PSA report will be considered and added to the final PSA report following the consultation period. The final document will then be presented to the Council’s Committee and will be published on our website.

Public EV charger update for Highlands

⚡️ EZO is upgrading local public EV chargers to improve reliability and keep payment simple.

Drivers using the council-owned ChargePlace Scotland chargers now need to download the EZO app to access the network.

The app is free, easy to use and displays real-time charger availability with simple payment options and access to a wide network of roaming partners – and is already trusted by more than 110,000 drivers.

We are looking forward to welcoming spectators to tonight’s fireworks display at Crawl Park

Spectators are asked to be mindful of the weather forecast for this evening and dress appropriately for the event. Please wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear for walking on uneven, wet and potentially muddy ground.

🕔 A reminder of the timings for the fireworks display:

👉 6pm – Food & Rides
👉 6:30pm – 7pm Light show by Prism Event Lighting
👉 7pm – fireworks display begins.

We would ask that Spectators attending minimise as much rubbish left at the Crawl Park by using bin bags provided and also ask that used Sparklers are placed in the Sand buckets which are provided !

Public Notice – Event Parking Arrangements

During the Fireworks Display event, car parking will be available at the following locations:

Alness Academy

Mitchell Lane Car Park

Averon Centre Car Park

Please note that there will be limited disabled access parking available at Crawl Park, strictly on a first-come, first-served basis for Blue Badge holders.

We kindly ask all attendees to plan their travel accordingly and to allow extra time for parking and access.
