Thank you to everyone who stopped by the League's booth at Pride Fest. We loved meeting so many people, sharing information, and talking about ways to stay engaged in our community.

Events like these are a reminder that democracy is about people. We are grateful to be part of a community that shows up, celebrates one another, and continues working toward a more inclusive future.

In a ceremony Tuesday afternoon, we recognized Senator Jim Tomes with our annual Making Democracy Work Award. He represents his constituents well and always shows up at the Meet Your Legislators events during each year’s legislative session.

Senator Tomes was elected to the Indiana State Senate in 2010.

We had around 70 people join us for the Property Tax Seminar Tuesday night. We send our thanks to AIM and the city and county officials who took time out of their evening to help us learn about a very complicated issue. We look at this as our first conversation, and we look forward to learning more.

We had a great panel and a large turnout for our High Cost of (Slightly Lower) Property Taxes Town Hall on Tuesday evening.

The League of Women Voters hosted a special town hall forum at EVPL Central about the impact of property tax cuts from Senate Enrolled Act 1.
