Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in the Gallipoli campaign, their first engagement in the First World War (1914–1918).
On the left is an Australian O.R. and on the right is a Lt. of the 3rd (Auckland) New Zealand Regiment.

44 YEARS LATER !!!! 🇨🇦🙏🇨🇦
The top photo, taken in July 1944, in Normandy, shows three Canadian heroes (Bernard Hoo, John McCouville and Roy Kostick) at the entrance of Caen. These three members of the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada survived the war, returned to Canada and had wonderful lives. On June 6, 1988 (forty-four years after the picture was taken), Bernard, John and Roy went back to Caen and stood at the exact same spot (bottom photo).
