I just want to use this forum to welcome my friends and yet to be friends and bring to light the ministry God gave me in other to be part of that Great Commission which is to go and evangelize. In 2005 on that fateful Sunday morning my pastor Roger Cochran was preaching the sermon I was hearing these two words MEDICAL MISSION over and over and said to myself what's going on you are not even listen
ing to the sermon. It continued next I remember was that It occurred to me God was calling me to use my skill as a Registered nurse to serve Him . As this was all going on in my head the pastor was still preaching. Next was that I found myself drafting a fundraiser flyer.After church I spoke to my friend Sue Kaminiski about the vision and as she is computer savvy I told her to do the necessary corrections on the draft and bring it in during Wednesday bible study. things were moving so fast and I was wondering if it was God speaking or not. I got home and in less than three hours Sue called me to give her my email address so she can forward the fundraiser flyer. I was shocked to say the least probably if she had waited till Wednesday I could have developed a cold feet. Then all kinds of miracles erupted from CVS offering to procure medications ,to getting a cheap ticket from KLM, to members of my church and friends showing up and donating for the trip etc. This is a typical way of God providing the ability when we give him our availability. God provided protection to and from Nigeria. It was a 4-day mission tailored after Jesus ministry which meets both spiritual and physical needs. I would start with preaching the word, offering salvation which is free, leading them in sinners prayer , educating then on the prevalent illnesses , screening them but not limiting it to the two most common killers diabetes and hypertension. I will then give out two week prepackaged medication to those who need them but every one gets the maintenance medications like vitamins, folic acid, pain medications etc. The news after the first day spreads like wild fire so I start at 8am but the villagers start lining up very early
We do not have a scheduled shift we go till we run out of medication or see the last person which ever comes first. It is a wonderful feeling to see the joy in their faces as they receive freely from people they may never know or meet but they are very thankful. I do no have a permanent site so I use churches or village square. In 2006 I purchased an all paid 2 plots of land donated to the Lord, as we know you can never out give God as he owns the world and the fulness their in and we do not even have the title deed to this earth as we are all transients passing through. I have started construction on the first plot as funds come in. Since We Treat Jesus Heals started I have been making trips every 6months but for last year.I am scheduled to leave again in October and combine medical mission with supervision of the building which has a foundation laid to hold a 4 story building
