Throwback to when our Founder & CEO, Soraya Fouladi and Chief Strategy Officer, Pumla Maswanganyi presented the Jara Unit at the event 2019 in Melbourne, Australia, and won the GRAND PRIZE of $20,000!

To win this award, Pumla and Soraya had to get the majority votes from the 15,000 attendees at Cisco Live. Soraya also gave a talk to 800 Cisco Networking Academy students about Jara and being an engineer and entrepreneur.

Today, 244 million children and youth are out of school, and 771 million adults are illiterate. Their right to education is being violated and it is unacceptable. This is why here at Jara, our mission is to make quality education accessible to everyone!

We are so excited to announce that our CEO, Soraya Fouladi, will be keynoting the largest youth changemaker conference in the world, One Young World!

Additionally, We are very honored that we at Jara have been awarded the One Young World + Deloitte SDG 4 Scholar Award!

Soraya is speaking on this year's stage where Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, will also be keynoting.

We are so looking forward to her fire-side chat with the Deputy CEO of Deloitte, Michele Parmelee.

For years, we have been in admiration of the One Young World forum and always dreamed of joining this community!

We are so thrilled for Soraya to share ‘s mission and work with the world, and to meet all of the international ambassadors and delegates who are fighting everyday for a better world for all.

It’s back to school season🍎📝!
For some children this time means the end of vacations 🏖, buying school supplies 📗, and early mornings 🌞. But for many other children they never even get the opportunity to attend school let alone go back to it. The global disruption to education caused by the COVD-19 pandemic 😷effects on learning are severe. The crisis brought education systems across the world to a halt, with school closures affecting more than 1.6 billion learners. While nearly every country in the world offered remote learning opportunities for students, the quality and reach of such initiatives varied greatly and were at best partial substitutes for in-person learning. Jara has created . It is a personal educational device that enables children to learn localized education content in any language without needing access to electricity, a quality classroom, or the Internet. The Jara Unit acts as a teaching tool for teachers to use in the classroom during self-study time and for students to continue their learning at home, especially when textbooks and workbooks are minimally available.
