School Uniform Donations:

Children in Distress partnership with Harry Gwala District Municipality donated with school uniforms to three rural school in KwaZulu-Natal.

These schools are under the Ubuhlebezwe, Harry Gwala, and Umzimkulu Municipalities.

Children In Distress CEO said the innitiative was aimed at encouraging learners from rural Areas to value education and desist from dropping out of school.

"We want to ensure that rural schools get the necessary support and education empowerment. we thought it would be important that we visit all three of the Harry Gwala Local Municipalities and identify schools that need uniform support," Said CINDI- CEO.

Harry Gwala District Mayor Z Nxumalo, said what inspired him to take part in this innitiative was to empower children through education, especially in rural areas.

The schools that received uniform donatiobs are Ixopo Primary, Clydestal and Summerfield these schools are all under Harry Gwala District.

The event aimed to spread knowledge, promote understanding, reduce stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS and served as a platform to rally support, drive advocacy, and mobilize resources towards safeguarding the health and well-being of vulnerable children.

Stakeholders including health care providers, community members, advocacy groups, children, pregnant women and other individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, shared a range of experiences and insights during the event. Many stakeholders found the discussions informative, eye-opening, and impactful in increasing their understanding of the challenges faced by individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The event also provided a platform for open dialogue, sharing personal stories, and highlighting the importance of prevention, testing, treatment, and support services. In this case stakeholders actively participated in workshops, panel discussions, and awareness activities, fostering a sense of community and solidarity in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Participants also appreciated the opportunity to connect with resources, learn about new developments in HIV/AIDS research, and engage in advocacy efforts to address gaps in HIV/AIDS education and care. The event sparked conversations, inspired action, and encouraged stakeholders to work together towards a more inclusive, support and informed society.

Overall, the event was a meaningful and insightful experience for stakeholders, as it not only raised awareness about HIV/AIDS but also emphasized the importance of compassion, empowerment, and collaboration in addressing the challenges posted by these conditions.
