Each year at this event our audience is enthralled by an incredible line-up of past, present and future World and Olympic Champions. The list o
f skating stars will continue to grow as the event gets closer. Over the years, the gala has raised over $1.2 million for local charities. The 2012 gala will support “Rotary House” a residential lodge for patients receiving treatment at Royal Victoria Hospital’s Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre. Rotary House will provide patients and their families who have to travel more than 40 km for treatment a place to rest and recover instead of having to endure travel when they are probably the sickest they have ever been in their lives. The Rotary Club of Barrie-Huronia has supported the dream of families staying together during cancer treatment, and earlier this year, construction on Rotary Place, which will be home to Rotary House began, adjacent to the cancer centre.
