Second Softball/Baseball Meeting Reminders & Links

Join us to review the postseason exams for softball and baseball.

Both meetings are scheduled for Monday March 23 at 8:00pm. We plan to record both meetings and upload to YouTube.

Each meeting has their own separate link and phone numbers. Please ensure you click the correct link for the meeting you wish to attend.

Please share these links with anyone interested in officiating softball or baseball.

Member In Good Standing (MIGS) for Basketball

One of the qualifications to officiate basketball in the postseason is to be a Member In Good Standing (MIGS) with an approved local officials association. We have updated our basketball list on the MHSAA website.

We STRONGLY encourage you to check your MIGS status on the MHSAA website.

Reminder that the MIGS must be up to date BEFORE Monday January 5th!

Don't delay reviewing your status!

Please remember that if you are MIGS in basketball that you should show as MIGS two times (once for boys and once for girls basketball).

Check your MIGS status on the MHSAA website!

1) Go to www.mhsaa.com and login to MY MHSAA (red button upper right hand corner) with your username/password.

2) Then click the MY MHSAA (should be a blue color now) to pull down a menu of options.

3) Click "Officials Services"

4) Click Member in Good Standing

5) Confirm you are listed with at least one approved association for both boys and girls basketball (if you intend to officiate both).

You may choose to be part of any local approved association as long as they support basketball. If you plan to join the Metro Detroit Athletic Officials association, please submit your registration dues as soon as possible. Again this year, electronic payment is possible!

Send payment to [email protected] via Zelle, Google Pay and PayPal.
For Venmo use -Schram-19
Include your name, officials ID and your preferred email address.

You may also complete our registration form and mail payment in the next few days to:

Basketball Meeting Follow Up and Reminders

1) The MHSAA has produced a new basketball officials manual for 2025-26 and it's excellent. New and veteran officials should both take time to review it (login required):

2) There are many scrimmages upcoming. Please reach out to assignors for opportunities. Their contact information is in the link below. Reach out to Bob Czech, Wallace Whitfield, Malcolm Pennington, Dee Little, Mike Evoy and Gary Wagenschutz regarding scrimmage opportunities.

As a reminder, we’ve been advised by MHSAA to clear out our members in good standing for each sport every year. To be considered a member in good standing with the MDAO for a sport, remember to:
1) pay your dues for the year,
2) submit an updated registration form (even if your information has not changed) and
3) attend at least two meetings in each sport you officiate.

Important Updates for the MDAO Football Kickoff Clinic!
The MHSAA Football Rules presentation will be handled differently this year. A smartphone will be required to scan a QR Code to get credit after the completion of the presentation. You will also need to know your MHSAA username and password. If you have already viewed the rules presentation, you will not need to do this.

Due to construction, please park in the lot off of 13 Mile Rd. on the west side of the school and walk to the Big Auditorium off of Evergreen Rd. We apologize for the inconvenience. Refer to the image below.

Unfortunately Correct Call Officiating will not be able to attend the clinic this year. You may still go to their website for gear with the MHSAA approved logo on it. Purchase Officials will also still be onsite for all other gear. Please come early if you plan to buy some gear as it can get very busy prior to the meeting!
