Meeting Minutes
On 7th May 2026, a dialogue session was held at the office of Sakan-e-Sheza Trust focusing on the identification and discussion of challenges faced by women with disabilities and possible solution mechanisms.
The session was chaired by Mrs. Erum Saaim, while Ms. Naseem Akhtar Shaikh moderated the program.
Advocate Altaf khoso attented the program as a legal advisor and Feroze Kamdi participated as key speakers and highlighted the social, economic, legal, and accessibility-related challenges faced by women with disabilities. They emphasized the need for inclusive policies, accessible infrastructure, equal educational and employment opportunities, and stronger protection mechanisms against discrimination and violence.
Participants shared their experiences, challenges, and opportunities related to women with disabilities, particularly regarding access to education, healthcare, employment, mobility, and participation in decision-making processes. The discussion also focused on the importance of social inclusion, awareness raising, and strengthening support systems for women with disabilities.
During the dialogue, participants discussed probing questions to better understand the lived experiences of women with disabilities and explored practical recommendations for policy reforms, community awareness, capacity building, and institutional support systems.
The session concluded with a collective commitment to continue advocacy efforts for the empowerment, inclusion, dignity, and protection of women with disabilities in society.
