Academy Prep Building Across Borders APBAB: Youth Build in the Bahamas to Alleviate Poverty A. P. The A. B. At this time we need as many volunteers as possible.

Our message is simple: Charity is not dictated by wealth, status, or age, but by the passion for helping those in need. Building Across Borders is a Non-Profit Project which aims to send 22 8th grade students from Academy Prep Center for Education (an NGO which provides students from low-income houses with free, "rigorous", and community-oriented education) to participate in a disaster relief ser

vice project in the Bahamas. The Bahamas Habitat works to repair the homes of impoverished families and to improve the living conditions and lifestyles of families in need. Project will provide students with valuable cultural experience, instill the value of service work, and encourage a lifelong commitment to community outreach. We'll be hosting a car wash on Nov 12th at 7/11 by Eckerd, bake sales at Publix, and a baby sitting day. Also, from now until January 2012, we will be holding a CALL FOR ARTISTS. We plan to hold an ART AUCTION at Eckerd College early next year (2012). If you are an artist and would like to DONATE a piece to the auction, please contact Sarah Partin at [email protected] or by phone at 717-439-7421 or John Celestin at [email protected]. Our goal is to collect at least 100 pieces for the auction. Artists, you are encouraged to attend the auction and to bring business cards! The exact location and date of the auction will be announced later this year.
