We were honoured to welcome the High Sheriff of Shropshire to Little Stars HQ last week.

It was a pleasure to show them around and share more about the work we do supporting families across Shropshire. Our Founder and CEO, Leanne, together with members of our team and volunteers, spent time discussing the growing demand we're seeing and the real impact our support has on families facing hardship.

As a small but growing charity, visits like this are invaluable, they help us build awareness of the challenges local families face, while strengthening relationships with those who champion our work within the community.

Thank you to the High Sheriff for taking the time to visit, listen, and learn more about Little Stars.

This summer, we opened up our Cool for School service to self-referral!

That means families across Shropshire can now reach out to us directly for help with school uniform, making it even easier for us to support those who need it most.

And the difference is already showing: referrals rose by 37.8% across June, July and August, and together we were able to help children access the essentials they needed ahead of the new school year. 💛

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of everyone who donated during Wear Stars 4 Little Stars Week and our Cool for School campaign earlier in the summer. Having that funding in place meant we could act quickly — ordering in items we didn't have on hand so families would be ready for the start of the school year.

To every individual, school, business and organisation who gave — thank you. You helped us reach more children, faster, when it mattered most. 🙏

Some of our team have been busy behind the scenes last week, helping our new shop manager, Sian, restock and get the Little Stars Shop ready for reopening! 🛍️💛

Our shop plays such an important role in what we do. It sells items we're unable to use for our core services at affordable prices, giving them a new home while every purchase directly funds our work, including our baby bank and cool for school for school services.

It also means families who are feeling the pinch, but who might not need our full support, can still pick up good quality children's essentials at a price that works for them. And of course, giving pre-loved items a second life is a lovely way to help the environment too! 🌍

We're so excited to say the shop reopens its doors this Wednesday 16th September at 10am! Our new opening hours will be:

⭐ Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 10am – 2pm
⭐ Saturday: 10am – 4pm

We can't wait to welcome you back through the doors, and for you to meet Sian in her new role! 💛

Six weeks to go until the Little Stars Halloween Ball!

This year we're bringing you a night to remember, think vintage spooky carnival, black tie glamour, and entertainment all evening long.

New for 2026: arrive on time for our fire meet and greet as you walk in! 🔥

Once inside, the lovely Alison Haines Astrologer, Psychic Tarot Reader and Fauna Raine will be on hand with tarot and palm readings, our live band and DJ Joao Tavares will keep the dancefloor going, and our prop team have gone all out to bring the carnival theme to life throughout the venue. There'll also be a mirror photobooth on the night, kindly provided by Spectacular Selfies , so you can capture the evening in style.

Most importantly, every ticket sold helps us continue providing everyday essentials to children and families across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin who'd otherwise go without.

We're really looking forward to the next event in aid of the Mayor of Shrewsbury's chosen charities, Tastes of Asia!

It's going to be a brilliant afternoon of food and fundraising, with dishes from Thai, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Indian, Sri Lankan and Turkish cuisine, all while raising vital funds for local charities including Little Stars. Thank you to the Mayor for the continued support - hope to see lots of familiar faces there on 18th October!

We're so excited to say we're accepting donations again! 💛

After a short pause in August, our doors are open once more and we cannot wait to see what's dropped off.
