Rocking it in Texas!

"What Outreach has Done for my Life?

In 2021 the Lord put it on my heart to be more involved in His mission. I had been going to church on Sundays, and kept seeing the announcements about outreaches every other weekend. My wife and I decided that we needed to get involved as a family.

My soon to be good friend, Tam Macintosh, had organized an outreach where we went to an RV park and handed out bags of food door to door. This was the year after Covid and people in that RV park had fallen on tough times. My family helped serve with other families. It wasn’t easy at first, but just knowing that's where God wanted us to be made any anxiety we were feeling diminish. After the outreach was over we did a download time where we grabbed lunch and talked about how God was working through all the different outreach groups. At that download time my soon to be good friend, Justin Rusinovich, asked me to come to Men’s Group on Wednesday nights. Shortly after that conversation I attended a my first Men's Small Group. I was nervous about that as well, but everyone made me feel welcome. Not long after my wife joined a Women’s Group, and Justin’s wife invited us to a Couple’s Group. One of our daughters had been attending Youth Ministry and our other daughter joined in shortly after. Now a few years later, my family and I continue to do outreaches, have made many lifelong friends, and in March of 2022 served on our first Mission Trip as a family.

So what does outreach mean to me? It has allowed me to be obedient to my Heavenly Father. It has connected me with other believers who go out and show God’s love in a practical way. Who would have thought I could be like Jesus by dancing like crazy at a red light and giving someone a free Dr. Pepper? Outreach has allowed me to serve with youth, young adults, people my age, and older. People from all walks of life. Just knowing that even if only one person comes to Christ, it’s worth every minute. Our main goal is to reach the lost and lead them to Jesus, but I believe outreach is also for us as believers to to do what God has called us to do. Living out my faith has lead to peace that I have never had before. Jesus has forever changed my heart and continues to work on me on daily. I have learned that all God wants from us is a relationship with Him. He wants our hearts. That lesson God taught me started with OUTREACH. God Bless ❤️🙏"

In honor of Mother's Day, in this week’s Greenwood Kindness Challenge, we are providing $5 Starbucks bar codes for you to receive and then send to a single mom, possibly someone who does not know Jesus/have a church family, whose life has been affected by COVID-19. Here are the steps:
💻 Comment on this post and we will send you a $5 Starbucks code to send to a single mother..
👏 Pray for God to reveal to you who He wants you to send the $5 Starbucks code to.
📱 Text that person with the $5 Starbucks code and say something like, “I hope this small gift helps you during this crisis…there are no strings attached. I just wanted to show you that God loves you in a practical way. Let me know if I can help in any other way.”

Another great idea! Stay active friends to demonstrate God's love in practical ways.

We are excited to announce that we will be doing a Drive Through Grocery Giveaway on Friday, April 24th. The primary purpose of this event is to help address food needs for anyone who has been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Between 2pm and 4pm, we will be on site in the Vineyard Northwest parking lot (9165 Round Top road) with multiple “stations” available to choose from. There will be a grocery station, a coffee station, a prayer station, and a “kids station” where we will be offering a craft packet and a Bible to kids. For safety purposes, people will not be allowed to get out of their cars. For each car that pulls into the parking lot, a Vineyard Northwest staff member or volunteer (wearing gloves and having sanitized all giveaway items) will bring the grocery bag and other giveaway items to each car.

How to do Outreach during COVID?

Outreach In The Age of CV-19 This may be a time of world crisis, yet for those who have “ears to hear,” we have reason to rejoice in the open doors of opportunity to bring God’s love in practical ways. When we meet an outward shortage of any sort in life, we have easier access …
