Today, Director Abigail Hall, board member Patrick Derleth, and volunteer Bailey Mussell participated in a ride with the Chippewa Valley Motorcar Association, sponsored by the Alma Knights of Columbus.

The CVMCA operates along 5.5 miles of track north of Nelson along the old Milwaukee Road tracks, using old maintenance cars previously utilized by the railroad. Along the way, passengers were treated to a variety of presentations on local railroad and Indigenous history by the members of the CVMCA and Max Bachhuber, director of the Alma Historical Society. Of course, the group also made their best efforts to highlight the mentions of Reads Landing in the railroad history discussed.

Mark your calendars 📅 We are teaming up with Durand Improvement Group (DIG) and hosting another open-air train ride into the Tiffany Bottoms on September 20th 🍂

There will be a morning ride (8:30am-Noon) and an afternoon ride (1pm-5pm). Reservations are required, as space is limited. $20 per person and children 5 and under are free.

This past Saturday, members of the Lower Chippewa River Alliance assisted the CVMCA in clearing the tracks down to Savoy. The LCRA sponsors train rides in May and September. Thanks to everyone's efforts, the track is now ready for our spring rides.

PM Ride through the Tiffany Bottoms. 1-5:00. $25 per rider. Includes water and snacks.
