This conversation creates space for coaches to honestly explore the tension between knowledge and action and examine the deeper challenges that may sit underneath business growth. During International Coaching Week 2026, ICF Heartland launched its second annual pro-bono coaching initiative. For this project, coaches are encouraged to offer at least one 30-minute pro-bono coaching session before our chapter event on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Last year, our members offered 800 hours of coaching - we would love to exceed this number!

We have created a graphic you can download and use as you share this offering with your network. Please use the Google form (https://forms.gle/UqhTJp37HtmpDaYX9) to capture information and reflections about your 30-minute sessions.

Coach training teaches us how to coach. Building a coaching practice requires us to become something new. Many coaches enter the profession excited about the possibility of making an impact, only to encounter unexpected obstacles once training is complete. Questions such as "Who am I to do this?", "What if no one hires me?", or "How do I put myself out there?" are more common than many coaches realize. These challenges often have less to do with business strategy and more to do with mindset, confidence, and the willingness to take action despite uncertainty. This coffee chat is a space for coaches to share experiences, explore common pitfalls faced by newer coaches, and coach one another around real-world challenges. Bring your insights & questions as together, we'll identify practical ways to move from hesitation to momentum so participants leave with greater clarity, confidence, and commitment to their next step.
