Three hours and a campsite full of dedicated leaders equals one incredible year of Cub Scouting ahead! This weekend, Pack 42’s leadership team gathered at Camp Sayre for our Annual Planning Meeting, laying the groundwork for the year ahead.

A huge thank you to every leader who showed up and invested their time in our Pack and our kids!

Here’s to another year of adventure, growth, friendship, and memories.

Where in Quincy could you find our Cub Scouts this past weekend? 👀

-At Faxon Park, our Arrow of Light Scouts built and installed a bat box, completing their Champions for Nature Adventure while creating habitat for one of nature's best and cutest mosquito controllers.

-Our Wolves didn't let a little rain stop them from heading out to fish. Wet? Yes. Smiling? Absolutely. Way to go Wolves!

-And at the Veterans Music Festival, Pack 42 had the honor of presenting the colors to kick off the event. Thank you to Mr. Minh Che and Mrs. Sarah for creating a Pack 42 booth to share with the community what our Pack is all about!

Our Cubs spent some time this morning at Furnace Brook Golf Course helping remove Black swallow-wort- an invasive vine that can be identified by its twining vines, opposite pairs of dark green leaves, and long, slender seed pods. It spreads extremely quickly, smothering native plants and harming wildlife habitat. It's so invasive that it cannot be composted and must be disposed of properly or burned to prevent it from spreading.

A special thank you to Walter Hubley - Ward Three City Councilor, for leading this ongoing conservation effort to help control the spread of this vine throughout the City of Quincy. If you're interested in helping, contact him to learn how you can join a future invasive plant removal event!

Did you know that we are holding a limited edition Class B Design Contest for all current Cubs? Here's the challenge!

Design the back of a Class B shirt-
*Theme it around Cub Scouting- camping, hiking, pinewood derby, service projects, fishing, etc!
*Include Pack 42, Quincy, MA, 2026–2027 in the design.
*Draw it in black and white (clean line art)
*Artwork must take up at least an 8.5" × 11" sheet

Don't forget to design your own version of Akela for the front pocket logo!

The winner receives a free Class B and bragging rights!
