Cub Scout Pack 42 (Quincy, MA)

It was a beautiful late afternoon hike to the top of Rattlesnake Hill with Pack 42! We used our Journey sticks to collect leaves along the way and learned how to preserve them in vegetable glycerin.

This weekend we sold a LOT of popcorn. We were given a bunch of bananas. We sold popcorn to the owner of Dunkin’ Donuts. Max and Vincent took over the North End. Former Cubmasters Kai, Sarah, Brian, and Mrs. Theberge all made appearances, proving that, in fact, no one's heart ever leaves Pack 42.

Our Scouts once again did an incredible job, and Quincy once again showed up for them in a BIG way. Thank you scouts, thank you parents, and thank you Quincy.

What a beautiful day for the Bear Den to hike to the top of Great Blue Hill! Incredible views, lots of laughs, and bonding experience they won't soon forget.

At their first den meeting, Lions (Kindergarteners) tossed a ball around and got to know each other’s names and something that was each Lion’s favorite thing. They also painted their handprints yellow and made their den flag. They practiced the Scout sign, Scout Oath and Scout Law. They played “Simon says” and catch.

Our scouts are being very brave and dedicated to their Pack and are selling out in this rain today! You can find them all day at Kam Man, Stop and Shop 3A (12-6), and Curtis Liquors (12-2). A sale sure would encourage them :) Thank you to all who have purchased from us!

Our AOL's camping weekend was a washout but that didn't stop them from working on their journey to Crossovers! They found a way to get together, work on their patrol flags, complete the Engineer Adventure, and had a pot luck of camp food. Keep watching for updates from this den- I mean- three PATROLS- as they take the year to prepare for Troop life!

Today, Pack 42 was proud to take part in Bells Across America at Hancock Adams Common, joining communities across the country in ringing bells to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.

Webelos (4th graders) kicked off the season with some new additions to their Bobcat adventure. They voted on their den flag, and worked on their den chant. They learned about denner (youth leadership) position and were ready to take on more responsibilities this year. They also played “Charades” to tell their den about the favorite things they did over the summer. And the highlight is always s’mores at the end of the meeting, of course.
