Our beautiful village lies alongside the River Kennet, and has a busy pub, very popular school and a great sense of community It is a small village with a current population of just over 300 adults. And it's beautiful, with many ancient houses. You could say it's a typical English country village. A message from the Wheatsheaf-

We wanted to make you aware that from Monday-Friday this week the pub is doing its final works on the car park - final layer of tarmac. This will mean that our car park has to be shut from Mon-Fri and we will have to ask guests of the pub to find alternative parking (likely on-street in Chilton Foliat) just for these few days. Our hope is that a few people are away in August so both the village is less busy and possibly the pub which hopefully means this shouldn’t have a big effect on village life this week.
