Garfield Super Block Located at the heart of the Central Area, the Garfield Superblock is the community’s central gathering place as well as a historical City-wide destination.

Known to some as “Little City Hall”, the space pulsates with a rich local history.

Yay! The preparation for the fish getting placed in our walkway and also the making of the bomanite strip which will act as our water in the park. The blue bomanite will flow around the pathway and the fish will accompany! There will also be mile markers telling you the length of the loop you have walked!!

🚜 Construction updates 🚜

We have new infrastructure on the bathrooms! The blue representation of water has got added to parts of the pathway. The pavers are put in! The parkour bars have been placed and are currently being secured! So many moving parts but all coming into place so quickly! And did you see the slide!?

The basketball/tennis courts are so close to being done! Basketball being an outside availability so close to the school has yet to be done. We have heard so much excitement from the community!

Have you heard the news? The west side of the Superblock is open you can now access the stairs from Medgar Evers and use the new ramp!

Art making opportunity for Kids 14-18! This is a chance to be a part of the historic Garfield Super Block project and make tour very own bronze salmon that will live in the new ramp !!

The link to the sign up is on the flyer there is a 50 dollar stipend also!

It's happening!! Have you seen the newest updates of the Garfield Super Block? What you see here is the ramp on the eastern side of the field being paved. There are also wayfinding salmon being embedded! Check it out if you get a chance let us know what you think!
