Wes Smith is the Assistive Technology Coordinator for the Utah Assistive Technology Program (UATP) office over in Vernal, Utah in the Uintah Basin. Wes is looking for volunteers in the Vernal/Uintah Basin area to come help him work with assistive technology and serve the community. Research Opportunity for Utah Families

The University of Utah is recruiting children ages 4–15 with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have fine motor or hand function challenges to participate in a home-based digital rehabilitation research study.

Eligible participants may receive up to $200 for completing the study.

UATP will be partnering with the Utah Caregiving Roundtable to support this impactful, hands-on experience for professionals. We will be providing assistive technology devices, including wheelchairs, walkers, and canes, to help simulate real-life caregiving challenges.
This simulation offers a powerful opportunity to better understand the day-to-day realities caregivers face while navigating care, resources, and decision-making.
