It was an unusually cool late spring day in North Louisiana today as we gathered at the 19th Keachi Confederate Cemetery Memorial. A good turnout of SCV members from the Richard Taylor Camp of Shreveport and the W W Heartsill Camp of nearby Marshall Texas. Cannon and rifle volleys offered a salute to the many Confederate soldiers buried here, most unknown, and all from the April 1864 battles of Mansfield and Pleasant Hill. Wreath tributes were placed as part of a solemn and moving ceremony marking the sacrifices made by these Southern Heroes interred here. We offer our remembrances to all those that sacrificed so much defending their homes and families. Lest We Forget
