The San Antonio Roses were independent professional cheerleaders/dancers that represented San Antonio, Texas and were contracted out at times to be the dancers/cheerleaders for local professional and minor -professional sports teams. The San Antonio Roses were founded by Cynthia Lobo Trinidad a native San Antonian cheerleader /dancer from Whittier middle school, Edison H.S. ,AFA S.A Charro Cheerle
aders, AA S.A. The San Antonio Roses provided a program were local talented ladies could be on a dance squad and learn what it took to go pro. Since 1999 the Roses provided many local minor league and professional sports teams with their cheer/dance /promotion squads. Cynthia personally funded the Roses organization for 13 years with no team, corporate or monetary sponsorship backing and provided uniforms and all operational items. For the few years the Roses did not have a sponsored practice facility they had their own studio were individuals had a discounted fee to just cover rent. Besides that the ladies ages 18 and up that made the yearly auditions were awarded a scholarship and in turn signed a contract to perform at all games, come to practices, give back to the community by attending and contributing at community and charity events as positive role models for the entire season and were required to follow basic squad rules and regulations. Cynthia also organized and booked hundreds of high profile appearances/performances and also acquired sponsors for the ladies and received many free services and discounted benefits like free use of fitness gym, free movie passes, oil changes, tanning, hair, make-up etc. and the organization provide many of the same opportunities as any other pro-dance/cheer/promotion squad with photo shoots, calendars, etc. The experience was invaluable and many former Roses learned what it took to go pro and went on to perform on many different pro-sports squads including NBA and NFL and they all made wonderful friendships and to this day thank the organization for the experience. Roses alumni. Cynthia is now available and awaiting for a well established and well financed football league to come to San Antonio since her husband has his career in San Antonio and she can not move and would like to be considered and hired as the cheer/dance director of a organized professional team that will trust her many years of experience in the pro-cheerleader industry and allow her to direct a well polished product that will represent that team and protect the integrity of both the ladies and the marketing and branding of that team.
