Brookswood-Fernridge is currently a unique enclave, with a forested village appeal that we enjoy. Many residents have formed an opinion that developers and the Township of Langley (TOL) Council have a free hand in developing the community with limited regard to the existin
g Official Community Plan (OCP). This perspective has come from years of land use variances being approved throughout the Township despite the fact that these variances are often contrary to the direction outlined in the OCP. Residents see nearby communities going through densification and being robbed of their sense of community and they fear Brookswood-Fernridge may suffer the same fate. Some of our residents are unaware of the issues facing the community while others simply do not have the time to educate themselves about the opportunities and threats their changing community must address. The Brookswood-Fernridge Community Association can help by building resident awareness of any proposed changes that will impact our community. The BFCA is dedicated to enhancing the role of community residents in municipal governance. Our Members want to be well informed and involved in shaping the community we live in and love. Brookswood-Fernridge has beautiful forests, friendly and walkable neighborhoods, lovely gardens and green spaces, interesting local shops and a unique village feel that is precious to residents and visitors alike. We welcome members to meet other residents with similar concerns and interests. The BFCA encourages you to join one of our Interest Groups: Council Business, Membership and Fundraising, or to start a new Interest Group. We meet once per month.
