🏳️‍🌈 Congratulations to Tony Briffa, named Person of the Year at the 12th Victorian Pride Awards!

A long-standing LGBTIQ+ advocate, Vice President of InterAction for Health and Human Rights and Patron of Equality Australia, Tony has spent decades advocating for the rights, dignity and bodily autonomy of inters*x people.

Her tireless advocacy has helped drive historic change. In February 2026, the Victorian Parliament passed landmark reforms making it the first Australian state, following the ACT, to ban unnecessary, deferrable medical interventions on inters*x children without their consent.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Tony’s leadership, courage and the lasting impact of her advocacy.

Congratulations, Tony! 🩷

It's census day! We recommend completion of the census, with each individual entering actual s*x registered at birth and gender.

At the end of the census you have the opportunity to write feedback. Consider asking for inclusion of a question on innate variations of s*x characteristics, or indicating "Person 1 has an innate variation of s*x characteristics".

InterAction and our partners will continue to lobby for meaningful inclusion in the future of a question that works for us.

The 2026 census does not include a question asking respondents if they or household members were born with variations of s*x characteristics.

We're proud to be recipients of a new $300k grant over 2 years to help us expand our InterLink psychosocial support program and Inters*x Peer Support Australia peer support services.

This work means that we can provide free individual and group support for people with every kind of innate variation of s*x characteristics everywhere in Australia. Crucially, our free support for parents and carers is funded again, after a period where we have supported these activities with reserves. Thanks to the Australian Department of Health Disability and Ageing, and LHA for this support!

LHA is proud to be working with the Australian Government to administer the LGBTIQA+ Health Program (LHP) in 2026. The LHP is an exciting grants program that will support organisations offering health and wellbeing services to LGBTIQA+ people to apply for grants that enable the implementation of key...
