We send this note to inform our supporters, volunteers and participants, that we have taken the difficult decision to close down the work of Building Bridges.
The Lord has blessed the work over several years and we resolved to try to keep the work going following the sudden, and sad, home call of our founder and full time worker – Ryan Smyth. However, step by step, it has become increasingly clear that the work is not sustainable without a full time person on the ground to deliver the support programmes that are needed.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the work so generously with their time and financial support. A special word of thanks goes to Courtney Smith who has carried the majority of the workload in recent years. We also commend those who participated in our work and programmes and pray that the Lord would continue to work in their lives. Above all, we give thanks to our Lord and Saviour for his leading in past years and pray that he will raise up others to take forward the work in the increasingly challenging area of addiction ministries.
