If you like wandering around in the woods,
If you need community service hours,
If you would like to get to know Pembroke better,

Then please join the Pembroke Conservation Commission on Saturday, April 11th (rain date April 12th) at Pembroke Town Hall at 9am for our annual Monitoring Day event! This year we will get to assess the condition of our newest parcel which adds 50 acres to the Town Forest and was donated in honor of Francis Lariviere.

This is when the Commission and members of the public walk the boundaries of town-owned open space parcels, which we are required to do once a year. We will be installing signs, checking usage, and picking up garbage. Come prepared to spend a day in the woods: long pants and sleeves, bug spray, water, snacks, and a sense of adventure.

Mud season is the most vulnerable time for range roads, which is why there is a ban on OHRV/ATV use on them until May 31. Damage now lasts the entire season, making other uses difficult or impossible now and later (Mountain biking, horseback riding, even walking). - From RSA 236:38-39 -
"Violators will be fined $150 for the first offense and $300 for each subsequent offense within a calendar year, AND shall be liable for any costs to repair, remedy or otherwise return the road to an acceptable and stable condition as determined by the Public Works Director."
