QUESTIONS EVERY LEADER MUST ANSWER
Why Do Good People Become Poor Leaders?
Can someone have good intentions and still cause harm through poor leadership?
I believe the answer is yes.
Being a good person does not automatically make someone a good leader.
A person may genuinely care about people, want to make a difference, and have the best intentions—but still fail to listen, refuse correction, misuse authority, avoid difficult decisions, or keep others from growing.
Good intentions need good leadership practices.
Jesus demonstrated that leadership is not simply about having a good heart. It is also about serving wisely, developing people, accepting responsibility, making difficult decisions, and remaining accountable.
Sometimes, leaders don't fail because they are bad people.
They fail because they never allowed themselves to grow into the responsibility they were given.
So here's the question:
What is more dangerous in leadership—bad intentions or good intentions without the capacity to lead well?
And perhaps an even harder question:
Are you becoming a better person—or actually becoming a better leader?
