Canossian Volunteers Philippines - CVP This page is maintained by the Core Group and Senior Volunteers, under the supervision of the Canossian Sister-in-charge.

Canossian Volunteers Philippines (CVP) is an experience of SERVICE (Meaningful Summer) to God and His people. CVP is conducted every summer and participated by young people from our different communities in Luzon and Mindanao. The volunteers have their own stories on how they were called to serve. Each of them was called very uniquely from the others. Some left the comfort zones of their lives. Others, out of curiosity and adventure. Others only felt obliged, with little motivation at all. Many were called and they come with a lot of uncertainties yet after the program ordinary things become extra ordinary. Beyond those intricacies are turning points in their lives especially during the entire service. A revelation that they have major roles to perform for the salvific plan of God towards humanity. With grateful hearts, we celebrate the gift that you are to our Canossian Family. Thank you for your generous service, gentle guidance, and unwavering commitment to making Jesus known and loved.

We are deeply grateful for your beautiful religious vocation and faithful response to God's call. Through your life as a Canossian Sister, you continue to witness God's love and inspire many young people to deepen their faith, serve generously, and trust in His plans.

Thank you for always walking with us in our journeys of faith, service, and growth. Your presence, encouragement, and prayers have been a source of strength and inspiration to our CVP family.

May God continue to fill your life with His love, strengthen you in your mission, and bless you with peace, joy, abundant grace, and good health. We pray that He grants you renewed strength and many more years of fruitful ministry and loving service.

๐Ÿ™ THANKSGIVING FOR THE CANONIZATION OF SAINT MAGDALEN OF CANOSSA

October 2, 1988 โ€“ October 2, 2026
On the anniversary of the canonization of our Foundress, Saint Magdalen of Canossa, which took place on October 2, 1988, we wish to thank the Lord for this new page in the history of the Church and for this unique page in the history of our Institute.

โœ๏ธ FOR THE CHURCH
Magdalen is the witness of a woman who lived the Gospel radically: born into a noble family of Verona, she became poor with the poor in order to serve Christ in those most in need.

โœ๏ธ FOR OUR INSTITUTE
This date is a seal of confirmation: her charism, born of love for Jesus Crucified, is a gift from God entrusted to us so that we may put it at the service of others.

๐Ÿ’™ WITH MARY, OUR LADY OF SORROWS
Magdalen learned to stand at the foot of the Cross beside the Sorrowful Virgin, whom she had as Mother and model. Like Mary, she knew how to stand before suffering, with faith and tenderness, without turning her gaze away from the Crucified. She teaches us to accompany those who suffer with the same mother's heart, and to remain faithful when the cross is present in our lives and in our mission.

Lord, good Father, we thank you for the gift of Saint Magdalen of Canossa. Through her intercession and with Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, grant us a simple and generous heart, able to love and serve as she did, and to see Jesus Crucified in every suffering brother and sister.

SAINT JOSEPHINE BAKHITA, UNIVERSAL SISTER

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ 1 October 2000: a day of thanksgiving
Today we give thanks to the Lord for the gift of the life of Saint Josephine Bakhita, a gift from God to our Canossian family and to the whole Church, on the anniversary of her canonisation. ๐Ÿ™

Our universal sister, everyone's sister, won so many hearts through the humility and simplicity of her life. Those who live for the Lord and for others, especially the most vulnerable and those without a voice, cannot go unnoticed. Holiness is never improvised: it is travelled day by day, giving our lives to the Lord and, through Him, to those we meet along the way.

โ›“๏ธโžก๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Bakhita experienced the horror of slavery and human trafficking firsthand, a wound that remains open today in new and silent forms. She transformed the deepest suffering into forgiveness and gratitude, and the Church has proclaimed her patron saint of victims of human trafficking.

โœจ This holy daughter of Africa revealed herself to be a true daughter of God. She even felt gratitude towards those who captured her, because without it she would never have become a Christian or a Canossian sister.

๐Ÿ™ Today we pray for peace in the world and for all victims of trafficking and modern slavery, that, like Bakhita, they may meet someone who restores their dignity and freedom, and that there may never be a shortage of hands and hearts willing to set them free.

For many of our campers, ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”: ๐…๐ข๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐–๐š๐ฒ became more than just a weekend gathering. It became a space to rediscover hope, find strength in community, and encounter God's presence amidst life's questions and challenges.

Through prayer, sharing, meaningful conversations, and moments of reflection, our campers learned that finding our way does not always mean having all the answers. Sometimes, it means taking one faithful step at a time, trusting that God is leading us forward and that Mary walks beside us on the journey.

Along the way, they discovered the beauty of working together, stepping out of their comfort zones, trusting one another, and celebrating the unique gifts each person brings. They were reminded that challenges can become opportunities for growth, and that no journey is meant to be walked alone.

May their stories inspire us to embrace life's journey with courage, trust, and an open heart.

โ€˜Marian Camp 2026: Finding Your Wayโ€™ reminded everyone that life is full of uncertainties, but with courage, hope, and community, we can continue moving forward. It taught that we do not need to have all the answers to grow, because faith and companionship guide us along the way.

Mary was presented as an example of strength in sorrow, courage in uncertainty, and compassion in love. Her life showed that resilience is not about avoiding struggles but about facing them with trust, gratitude, and openness to Godโ€™s plan.

The camp encouraged participants to slow down, be present, and appreciate each moment. It highlighted that becoming more alive and more human means embracing joy, reflection, and belonging, while carrying forward the lessons of faith and care.

In the end, Marian Camp 2026 was not just an event but a shared journey of growth, reminding everyone that under Maryโ€™s mantle and Godโ€™s light, we are never alone.

We hope our dear campers carry these lessons with them, to walk with courage in times of uncertainty, to find hope in moments of struggle, and to remember that together, guided by Maryโ€™s love and Godโ€™s light, no one walks alone.

Gentle movements and breathing exercises that helped campers center themselves, promoting balance, focus, and inner calm.
โ€ข Under Maryโ€™s Mantle Session
Guided by Sr. Magi, this session invited participants to reflect on Maryโ€™s protective love, drawing strength and comfort from her example of faith and care.
โ€ข Closing with the 7 Sorrows of Mary Rosary
Led by Sr. Imai, the camp concluded with the making of the 7 Sorrows of Mary rosary. This creative activity was not only a meaningful way to end the camp but also served as a souvenir, a tangible reminder of Maryโ€™s compassion and the courage to face lifeโ€™s trials with hope.

โœจ Day 2 showed us that the best way to close a journey is by creating something lasting. From the calm of Shibashi to the embrace of Maryโ€™s mantle, and finally the making of the 7 Sorrows of Mary rosary, we ended the camp united in faith, gratitude, and community, carrying home a souvenir of Godโ€™s light and Maryโ€™s love. โœจ
