Introducing: a journal with no beginning and no end.

Cycles of Gaia launches Kickstarter for a 52-card journal designed to be kept for years, layering a writer’s seasonal observations against 3 decades of data tracking the average leafing, flowering, and fruiting schedules of 20 native tree and shrub species.

Unlike conventional planners, the journal cycles back around each year, allowing a writer to add new observations alongside the entries they made the year before — and the year before that.

“Most journals ask you to start over every January. This one asks you to come back,” said Erik Assadourian, founder and director of Cycles of Gaia. “When you write in the same week year after year, you stop measuring time the way a calendar measures it and start measuring it the way the land does.”

The journal is printed on 12-point cardstock and housed in a rigid, recycled chipboard sleeve designed to protect the pages and serve as a writing surface in the field.

Post Growth Fellow, Ashanti Kunene challenges those of us working toward , post-extractive futures to look beyond recognition and ask: whose knowledge are we actually beginning from?

The article traces how dominant ideas about wealth, authority, and economic life have been shaped by colonial and racial hierarchies, and asks what changes when we treat Black, African, Global South, and ancestral knowledge systems not as case studies, but as starting points.

Shareable’s beloved Libraries of Things toolkit has been fully revamped!

Libraries of Things (LoTs) are community hubs that operate on the familiar model of a library, but extend borrowing beyond books to other items like gardening and power tools, musical instruments, cooking equipment, and more.

There are roughly 2,000 formal LoTs worldwide, along with countless informal ones and networks dedicated to sharing.

Explore the toolkit–including written and video guidance–to help you start (and grow!) a Library of Things in YOUR community at and shareable.net/toolkit/library-of-things

Meet Obutaka, the indigenous land-governance wisdom of Buganda.

For over 30 months, Regenar Development Initiative has been listening to the land, residents, landowners, and future generations.

Now they are preparing to host a gathering on April 6 with Kiwaatule's residents to activate a local economy of collective healing centered on youth, wetland restoration, food and energy sovereignty, waste management, non-extractive finance, and culture.

Support the transition from landlord to landsteward by helping the community reach its $8K goal to gather with dignity – over 40% of funds have already been raised!
