Sue Stever has been a Rotarian since 2020. Sue is a passionate/hard working, behind the scenes volunteer. She was our guest speaker co-ordinator ( Sergeant-at-Arms) and is an extremely busy member of our Travel Draw committee. Sue is another one of those doers that the Rotary Club of Bathurst so treasures.

Sue is also actively involved with the Bathurst SPCA.

The next time you see Sue out and about in her busy day, don’t forget to thank her for her “Service Above Self.”

On Wednesday, the 10th of June; René Legacy, MLA Bathurst, congratulated the Rotary Club of Bathurst for being selected as the 2025/2026 Rotary Club of the Year by Rotary District 7815. Members Peter Assaff, Terry Giberson, Paul La Croix and Jeremy Reher were in the gallery as observers.

In the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, congratulatory statements are formal recognitions delivered by MLAs. These acknowledgements celebrate significant community achievements, milestone anniversaries, and local heroes.

Three of the four members of the Bathurst High School Interact Club who recently attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program hosted by Rotary District 7815 in Truro joined us at our weekly Rotary meeting to share their experiences. In attendance were Claire McLaughlin, Isabella Ross and Veronica Loboda. Leslie Lavigne was not able to attend the presentation.

The students spoke about the leadership skills they developed, the friendships they formed with participants from across the district, and the valuable lessons they learned through the program’s workshops and activities. Their enthusiasm and personal growth were evident throughout the presentation, and they provided an inspiring glimpse into the positive impact that RYLA has on young leaders.

The members of the Rotary Club of Bathurst were delighted to hear about their experiences and are proud to support opportunities that help develop the next generation of community leaders.

J'ai eu le plaisir d'accueillir aujourd'hui à l'Assemblée législative trois invités du Rotary Club de Bathurst : Terry Giberson, Peter Assaff et le président du club, Paul La Croix. Leur présence m'a permis de féliciter le Rotary Club de Bathurst, lors de l'inauguration de l'assemblée, pour avoir été nommé Rotary Club de l'année du district 7815. Un formidable accomplissement pour tous les membres du club.

I was happy to welcome three guests from the Bathurst Rotary Club to the legislature today, Terry Giberson, Peter Assaff and Club President Paul La Croix. They were here today as I had the chance to congratulate the Bathurst Rotary Club, during the opening of the house, on being named Rotary Clubs of the year for District 7815. Such a huge accomplishment by all the club members.

Sheena Daley, you are appreciated. The Rotary Club of Bathurst presented Sheena with an Honorary Membership to our club, and Rotary International.

The inscription reads as follows;

“Sheena Daley has been granted Honorary Membership in recognition of outstanding contributions, commitment to service, and valued support of the Club and its mission.

The Rotary Club of Bathurst is proud to bestow this honour with appreciation and respect.”

Sheena has been awarded Honorary Membership in recognition of her outstanding mentorship and dedication to the members of the Bathurst High School Rotary Interact Club. Since the Club’s inception, she has been a constant source of guidance, encouragement, and stability for its members. Her commitment to Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self”, is evident in the countless activities and initiatives she has supported. Whenever Interact members are engaged in serving their school or community, Sheena is there—leading, mentoring, and inspiring. Her unwavering support has played a vital role in the Club’s success and in the development of its young leaders.

The Rotary Club of Bathurst put on a BBQ in aid of the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment’s D-Day Commemoration Service. On D-Day, many of the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment’s soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice and many others carried physical and mental wounds for the rest of their lives. Lest We Forget.

The North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment will be holding a parade in Bathurst this upcoming Saturday the 6th of June to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings. The parade begins at 10:45am and will be held at the armouries at 1820 King Avenue. If you are in the area, we encourage you to come and join us in remembering this great achievement of our regiment’s forefathers.
