Question: How long has it been since our department had a female Lieutenant?
Join us in congratulating Lieutenant Shea Hallett! Lt. Hallett grew up in Fairbanks and graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Her public service career began as a college intern working in a drug and alcohol treatment center, then 2 years working in child protective services, followed by 10 years as a Juvenile Probation Officer for Fairbanks Youth Facility before joining Fairbanks International Airport Police and Fire in 2013 as an officer. Since working for our department, she has been a Field Training Officer, a Datamaster Supervisor, a union representative for 7 years, manages our public relations and was named Officer of the Year in 2020. Her most notable accomplishment is being Sergeant Brody’s mom, who accompanies her to work when she’s on shift. Oh, and shhh… we haven’t broken the news to him that he has a new boss. 🤫
