Ready for Rescue saves cats and dogs from the New York City's streets and kill shelters and places them in forever homes. We are a 501 3 C non-profit

Ready for Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit committed to saving cats and dogs from the streets and shelters of New York City. We have a special commitment to the underdogs (and undercats) that end up in local kill shelters. We routinely save sick, injured and senior animals, who in many cases are last ones left on the shelter's euthanasia list. We also have a particular fondness for Pit Bulls, a grossly misunderstood breed of dog that are the dogs most likely to not make it out of the shelter. We provide our animals with the finest medical care, place them in foster homes and search for the best forever home for each cat and dog. Each year we rescue over 100 wonderful cats and dogs. Ready for Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization and every dollar goes to the care and well-being of our animals.If you have any questions please contact us! Ready for Rescue is run entirely by dedicated volunteers. We are 100% dependent on donations and grants. Every dollar goes directly to our animals. Our operational costs are staggering and every bit helps!

GUS NEEDS A TEMP FOSTER
Gus has been doing amazingly in his board and train on Long Island. He has a foster lined up for 11/1 but his training ends in 10/16. Gus has been doing well with other dogs (he loves all people) but if you have other dogs, he would need to be separated and do slow intros (a best practice for any new dog). Gus loves playing in the yard, snoozing on your lap and getting belly rubs. If you are in NYC, LI, NJ or the Hudson Valley/Catskill region, please email us at [email protected]. CALISTA AND HER 8-WEEK OLD KITTEN GOMI NEED A FOSTER

Kitty Hawk needs a home! NYC-CT-MA-NJ area.

Are you looking for a queen bee kitty to rule your roost? Look no further than beautiful Kitty Hawk.

This gorgeous harlequin 3-year-old girl is talkative and speaks with the cutest chirps. She’s a sweet kitty that wants affection and attention, but prefers short interactions. She likes to be pet with soft strokes down her back. And enjoys a comfy soft fleece blanket on a bed. She also enjoys greeting her person when they come home.

Kitty Hawk also likes to play with wand toys, which gives her both the interaction she longs for and also enough personal space between her and her human. She’d do best in a home that is spacious and with someone who will enjoy an independent kitty.

Her former human had this to say about her: Kitty Hawk is an indoor only talkative cat. She prefers to spend most of her time in the kitchen, living room, and looking outside the window. My favorite thing about her is how sweet she is.

BEAUTIFUL DEE DEE STILL NEEDS A HOME

FOSTER OR ADOPT FLASH!
Ready For Rescue saved Flash from the NYC shelter a few months ago but the poor guy has yet to land a home. He's current in the Hudson Valley in a board and train but he really wants a couch where he can snuggle with you. Flash is a pocket Pittie (36 lbs) and is super playful. But he does struggle with anxiety which can cause him to be reactive to other dogs.
