𝐀 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐃𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 ✝️🙏
With hearts filled with gratitude and joy, we celebrate the Inauguration and Dedication of Christ the King Church at the Kilinochchi premises of the University of Jaffna. This sacred milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter in our spiritual journey, fostering faith, unity, and togetherness within our university community.
We were deeply honored by the presence of Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, the Bishop of the Jaffna Diocese, whose blessings and guidance made this occasion truly special. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Professor Sivakolundu Srisatkunarajah, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, for his unwavering support in making this vision a reality. We also express our sincere gratitude to Rev. Fr. A.V. Sylvesterthas, the Parish Priest of Kilinochchi, Rev. Fr. A. Macdonald, the Jaffna University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Prof. J.C. Paul Rohan, the Senior Treasurer of CSM UOJ, Rev. Fr. Ruwan Perera (OMI), the National Chaplain of the Sri Lanka University Catholic Students' Movement and all the other clergies for their spiritual guidance and invaluable contributions.
A special word of thanks goes out to the Deans of the Faculties of Technology, Engineering and Agriculture, whose presence and encouragement greatly enriched this occasion. We also extend our gratitude to the Deputy Registrar for his unwavering support in ensuring the success of this event.
This momentous achievement would not have been possible without the generous donors who came forward to support this mission. Your kindness and generosity played a crucial role in raising the necessary funds, making this vision a reality. We extend our deepest appreciation for your selfless contributions in building this sacred place of worship.
The overwhelming participation of over 300 students, faculty members, and well-wishers was a true testament to the faith and unity that bind us together. Your prayers and presence made this moment all the more memorable and meaningful.
As we dedicate this sacred space to Christ the King, we pray that it serves as a beacon of faith, hope, and love for generations to come. May this church continue to inspire and strengthen our university community, bringing us closer to God and to one another.
