Hope Water Project: A Charity Water Capaign Imagine filling your baby’s bottle with brown water you can only pray will not take his life. It is literally but an arm’s length away everywhere we go.

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

-Revelation 22: 17 Imagine not being able to supply your family with any water at all for even one day out of the year. Water is so easily accessible, so readily available as a prerequisite to our lives that it’s difficult

to even imagine having to leave your neighborhood or house to go and seek it out. A few weeks ago, my dad came home from work, sat me down and told me a story he had heard from a member of the Charity: Water team about a woman with a clay pot. She had walked miles and miles to go and collect water for her family. She could not afford a plastic jug, so a homemade pot would have to do. It took her nearly all day to get there and on her journey back she tripped, the pot broke and the water ran out. So devastated from the disappointment and knowing her family would not have any water, she took her own life and never made it back to her home. He came to me with this story knowing i would be convicted to take action and want to pass along the word and convict others towards a change for people in situations like this. Well he was right and this is a project worth getting obsessed with. As far as my personal project for the International Baccalaureate Program is concerned, i will be selling Art in the form of spray painted notebooks for students attending Lehigh Valley Academy for the price of four dollars. All proceeds go to Charity: Water to assist the drilling of wells in places where water, let alone fresh drinkable water is scarce. The fact of the matter is, even places where there is water, the likelihood that it is drinkable is an entirely different concern. Everything from parasitic organisms to fatal viruses can exist within something as necessary for all living creatures. There is so much more to be said on the subject, so many more stories to be told and heard and passed on, so many more hearts to heal and bodies to nourish. The truth is that we as privileged “water-wielding” Americans can do something about this and give to those who have not. with Love,

Sarah Elizabeth.
